Running for one night only, RepresentAsian takes to the Lyric Theatre stage once again, celebrating some of the best Asian musical theatre performers in the country, as well as introducing some new talent to the West End stage. This will be the eight installmment of RepresentAsian, and if the previous shows are anything to go by, this upcoming one will be another special night of talent.

The RepresentAsian shows have been fantastic at providing access and opportunities for Asian performers, promoting diversity and inclusivity and have highlighted the very best of what Asian artists can do. Not only are the shows a brilliant night out with wonderful performers, but the RepresentAsian shows, in partnership with The Boury Academy, also fundraise to continue creating scholarships for young Asian individuals to train in the arts and widen the talent pool.

With Nina Wadia, EastEnders icon and star of Now That’s What I Call A Musical, hosting, the cast of this eighth iteration of the show is already radiant. Christine Allado (Hamilton, Prince of Egypt), Hiba Elchikhe (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and Titanique), Zheng Xi Yong (Your Lie in April, American Psycho) and Mia Kobayashi (Your Lie in April, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line) have already been announced as part of the lineup, with more West End performers to be unveiled.

The creative team includes Ben Armstrong (Founder and Casting Director), Amy Hsu as Musical Director, Arranger and Orchestrator, with designs by Tom Mann for Ghostlight Productions, Alex Kais for House of Kais is Head of Brands and Partnerships, with further creative team members to be confirmed. Produced by Aixa Amarante Productions.

About this upcoming night, Ben Armstrong and Aixa Amarante Productions say “following an incredible debut in the West End last year, we are thrilled that Nimax have asked us back to the Lyric Theatre for our next instalment of “RepresentAsian”. This upcoming concert marks our eighth iteration of the show, and you can guarantee we will be showcasing more outstanding talent from the Asian diaspora, featuring West End leading players, and emerging talent. Never has the need for inclusive, diverse story telling been more prevalent. So, get your tickets, and we’ll see you in November!”.

With all this being said, it sounds like this eighth instalment of RepresentAsian will be just as amazing as the previous ones have been. The show is already gearing up to be a wonderful night with incredible performances from a dazzling cast.
